Water View Party

While I don't live by water, I adore going to our Georgian Bay island cottage, so I thought I would join in with Sharon's water view party at My French Country Home blog .  Being on an 11-acre island, our cottage is intimately connected to water:  we drive a little boat out to the island; we swim at different places around the island depending on where the wind is coming from; we walk around the island soaking in the gorgeous views; and we listen to the crashing waves on the reefs that are just past the next island.  I have been going to this cottage my whole life, so every nook, cranny, and view is seered into my memory.   When I think of the cottage, I think of:

sparkling water,

windswept trees,

fabulous rocks,

and amazing sunsets.

One of my favourite places on earth!

  2. Oh, what wonderful, wonderful pictures. I went to a "cottage" on a lake in Maine for over forty years, and it was similar to this. Many, many memories!

  13. Lucky girl! Love these pics.. can you share more pics of your little cottage? We have looked and looked for a little place near the water all up and down the east coast, but the word "affordable" is becoming more and more elusive.

  17. Grace, that is so beautiful. I love looking at water in other parts of the world. It's so different than our Florida beaches. Very lovely.

    Happy Outdoor Wednesday!

  18. Ah, the familiar beauty of Ontario's cottage country! Beautiful photos. We don't have a cottage in our family, unfortunately, but have spent all our summers in the great outdoors, camping mostly. We upgraded our trailer this week and are so looking forward to hitting the road and enjoying the views.

  24. Hi: I thought I had commented on this post (which I saw days ago over at Sharon's) , but I guess not! Your pictures are wonderful. What a place to go to: reminds me of the lake in Maine where I spent many summers years ago.
Also, to "enter" the House round-up, I send you an email to link to my post, right? Will try to do by this Thursday! Great idea...
