Cottage Charm Giveaway

Kim at Twice Remembered Cottage is holding her 4th annual Cottage Charm Giveaway which sounds like an inspired idea, a whole lot of fun, and something I would like to join in with.

My daughter and I were recently at your favourite store and mine - Anthropologie - and bought the pretty blue 5-inch high vase.   Fortunately I was able to buy 2 of them, otherwise I might not feel like giving it away.  As soon as I saw the bubbles in the glass I had to get them.

I'm also giving away 2 Johnson Brothers Old English sideplates.

The plates are just the right size for sharing a snack with a friend.  Does the square shape and the sweet rope detail around the edge look familiar, because they should if you have been paying attention to all the minutiae of our house.  They are the same as the plates on our dining room wall but without the coloured border and fruit centre.  You can see them here.

So here are the details:
  1. Leave a comment telling me what kind of snack you would have on the plates or what kind of flowers you would put in the vase (one entry).
  2. Become a follower or let me know in a separate comment that you are already a follower (second entry).
  3. Blog about the giveaway, put it on your sidebar, or mention it on FaceBook (third entry).
Finally, head on over to Twice Remembered Cottage to have a look at Kim's lovely red kitchen (among other amazing renovations they have done) and enter the other giveaways already linked up.  This is a humdinger of a blog link party, with everyone having a giveaway at the same time.  All giveaways will be drawn on Saturday, May 29th.  Mine will be closed at 9:00 pm Toronto time (I'm hopeless with time zones, so all I know is it's the one I'm in!).

  1. Great giveaway! I'm already a follower. Since I'm the first to comment, I'm going to wait a little bit to come back with what I might put on the plate.

  2. I was just at Anthopologie yesterday, a fun place to shop and browse. I adore white plates, I think they make food look better and blue is my favoraite accent color. I think I would put on of those little candles in the vase and on the plates I am picturing a panini made with curried chicken - yumm

  4. So pretty, Grace. I love blue and white so your giveaway is perfect. I love the rope detail around the plates. Can you believe that I have not been to Anthropologie yet? I really need to just set my GPS and go one day soon. The vase is wonderful, and you are right about the bubbles.

On those pretty plates I would serve some great cheeses, and local farmers market veggies and fruits cut up.

  5. As soon as I saw that plate I knew... I have a collection of 4 given to me by my late grandmother. Mine as the same as yours with colour and fruit.

For smack, I bet a slice of Belgium chocolate loaf covered in slivered, sugered and lightly heated strawberries would be FAB.

For the vase, pretty bunches of lilacs. I think the purple flowers with the blue vase would be so lovely on my diningroom table.

    cheers
    Susan

  20. Okay, what would I put on the plate? They would be perfect for a monogram like a "G" and a "3" but since they are Johnson Brothers, I don't think I could do that to them unless it was removeable. I have some old Johnson bros. china so I'm aware of what it is. So, how about some good ol' chocolate...brownies, cookies, a huge slice of cake...

    ReplyDelete
  21. I'm definitely a follower - love those plates!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Well this is a nice giveaway!! You know what a chinaholic I am!
I would definitely put yellow flowers in this blue vase. I love the bubbles.
On those two beautiful plates the cake i had last night for my husbands birthday would have looked so elegant on them. So i picture myself having tea and eating a white chocolate cake with butter cream icing! YUM!

  23. Hi Grace,
It's nice to meet you! I'm so glad you visited, and I owe a big thanks to Janice from Canadian Cottage. I've met so many new-to-me bloggers thanks to her.:)
Those plates are lovely! Love the vignette you made with them in your dining room.
You're the second person to suggest I take pictures of my before pictures of my kitchen, so I'm going to give that a go today and try to get them posted on my blog, hopefully, by tomorrow or Tuesday. Thanks for the suggestion! :)
    Bye for now, ~ Jo
