Friday Photo - Hole in the Rock

There is a mystery at our cottage on Georgian Bay - a large, deep hole in the rock and nobody knows how it got there.

I have always found it intriguing.  I'm leaning toward the alien theories, but it could easily be the glacier - hard to tell.

  3. I believe it is a glacial pothole-studied them in college. Sometimes you can find the round, worn rock at the bottom that carved it out in a water eddy.

  8. My son would say it looks like a giant guitar pick. Beautiful beautiful picture. Surely you have that framed somewhere in your house since the water is a perfect shade of blue and the hole makes it so interesting. It would be a great poster/art print.

  9. Definitely aliens and don't let any geologic or anthropologic types tell you any different!
