Mom's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Do you know what gets my mouth watering?  Home-made chocolate chip cookies, that's what!  My Mom has a fresh batch of chocolate chip cookies waiting for us whenever we go up to the cottage.  I dream about them all the way there.

Over the years my mother has perfected her recipe.  I'm going to let you in on her secret (actually she said I could) - just in case you have a craving for some fantastic chocolate chip cookies.

Ingredients:
1 cup margarine
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 eggs
2 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 pkg (350 gm) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup raisins
1/2 cup sunflower seeds

Method:
Mix first four ingredients together.
Blend in the flour and baking soda.
Add the chocolate chips, raisins, and sunflower seeds.
Drop by teaspoonful onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375F for 10-12 minutes.
Makes 4 dozen delicious cookies.

Chocolate chip cookies are my all time favourite comfort food.  What about you?  Do you have a go-to food that gets your mouth watering, reminds you of home, and makes you feel cared for and contented all in a single bite.

  1. Too funny. I was in need of some pick me up food, so my son was coming home from school for the weekend and I just had to whip up a batch of chocolate chip cookies for him....well, and me!

  2. I'll try these out and let you know how they go!

I always love banana cookies, just because Mom made them so often when we were children.

Every time I have one I think of her! Thankfully my mother is still alive to spend time with.
