Thanks for ...

The weather was a little hit-and-miss this weekend with rain showers and then sun and then more rain and cold temps, but nevertheless our Thanksgiving weekend at the cottage was the kind you look forward to all year.  



There was lots to be thankful for!


The tree colours were great this year.



We had eight family and friends at the cottage and another two joining us for Thanksgiving dinner.


The food was fantastic - as always.


I read my latest Style at Home and Canadian House and Home magazines and got some inspiration for Christmas decorating.  


We went for several walks which is my favourite thing to do on Thanksgiving weekend.



And my aunt brought us a branch from her forsythia bush that had produced a few blossoms of all things.  Isn't that the strangest!  On the purple fall-coloured leaves, the yellow flowers were beautiful.

Happy Thanksgiving Day. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend too whether it be Thanksgiving or Columbus Day or just a regular old weekend.  What did you do?

    Wow, I love the complimentary colors of the purple leaves and yellow blossoms! I hope y'all had a blessed Thanksgiving. What lovely scenery! The leaves haven't really started to change here yet....

    I'm in Northern Ontario and our colours are just starting to fade and fall off. So beautiful to look out the window and see all this!

    Looks like the perfect way to spend Thanksgiving! I love the look of that fall blooming forsythia, maybe it just wanted to be a part of the festivities?!

    Oh Grace it all looks so pretty and homey. Your photos are wonderful as always. Our colors have not changed yet...we still have a lot of green. Soon though!

    thank you!!! for sharing the fall color. Down here in Texas we don't get much ... the weather stays too hot and dry before the cool plunge so our trees don't get to "sugar" enough to produce a lot of gorgeous color so I live vicariously through blogs this time of year. ;)

    What beautiful fall colors! We are really just starting to turn and it's glorious. Thanksgiving at a cottage with friends and family sounds wonderful!

    Thank you for sharing your Thanksgiving and the beautiful images. I was just visiting in Vermont, Ontario, New York and more, as we chased the fall color. All the memorable colors, scentsations and more will inspire me for a very long time...your pictures were wonderful.
