Fond Memories of France

Want to escape for awhile? I was looking through some photos I took in France and thought I would share.

About a month ago I emailed my husband while we were at work and told him that I wanted to be living in a little flat in Paris RIGHT NOW. Not much we could do about it, but a girl can dream. What about you?  Where would you go if you could hop on a plane right now?

I'd head to Paris and visit the Louvre to enjoy some art,

and see Saint Chapelle again (which we liked better than Notre Dame) and stare at the stars on the ceiling

and try to count how many different painted patterns there are on the walls.

I'd have a picnic lunch at the Eiffel Tower.

I'd stay in a flat downtown

so I could wander around all day long exploring different areas and enjoying the atmosphere.

And every evening I would admire the sunset,

and the city lights.

Sigh! Wouldn't it be lovely.  Where would you go?

  1. That's exactly where I'd go....Paris. "J'ai deux amours....New York et Paris."

New York has my soul, but Paris has my heart. Happy childhood and adult memories with family and friends in the City of Lights.

    Your post made me smile.

  2. Paris would be my second choice behind Ireland. I've been to Paris several times, but never to Ireland, the land of my ancestors ;P

  3. Oh! Take me there!! And the best part is - I WILL be there in 15 months! We are taking the kids to France for just under 3 weeks in July 2014 - 5 days in Paris and then 14 days in a countryside rental near Vire in Normandy. I can't wait....Maybe you'll fit in my suitcase??

  4. I plan to live in Paris for at least 2 months every year now that I am retired. I walk down the street in Paris and there is so much to see. If you find the right apartment, it need not be too expensive and you can prepare some of your own food.

  5. Lovely photos. I would go anywhere with good architecture so that would be quite a few places I'm sure lol. Hope you are enjoying your long weekend.

  6. I would be right there with you, and we could meet for dinner in the 7th! Great photos, and I love all of the wonderful things you bought at the auction. What a gorgeous house your husband grew up in...I hope the new owners restore it as well.
