INSPIRING IDEAS

Often when I'm reading other blogs I come across fantastic ideas that really inspire me - anything from recipes, table settings, decor, vignettes, crafts, or even photographs.  I have a terrible memory and often when I try and find the idea I've lost track of where it is, so I've decided to keep them here all in one place.  This is a personal collection, because I'm only going to put ideas on this page that appeal to me and are something I might actually do.  I'll be adding to this page as I go along.

What a fun way to decorate for a party!

I love this wreath made from paper flowers.  Is this DIY material?  I'm not sure, but I think I could replicate it - and it sure would be worth a go because the end result is so pretty.




I don't even know how to crochet, but I'm saving this idea because I think it is just so adorable.

I love these shelves made out of a wooden pallet and painted white.  How clever is that?

I love this simple Valentine's day sign made out of a pallet.  It was inspired by a similar headboard shown here.


I love how this pillow is edged with a coordinating fabric.  It would look good with any kind of image on it.

Explore the Cabin
I have wanted to try my hand at painting my own grain sack stripes on fabric.  I love how this one turned out.

Grand design
Being a Geography major, this map caught my eye.  I would love to do a Canadian version or perhaps the world one day.




I love this pussy willow wreath and would like to give it a try next spring.  Actually I love the rustic buildings she has displayed it on as well.

This is how I would love my dining room to look.  One day.  

I've been drawn to the freestyle collages of random pictures that I see in lots of homes these days.  I especially liked this one.

COOKING INSPIRATION

This chocolate cake recipe looks so enticing that I had to store it somewhere safe so I could make it one day soon.
 

I loved this idea for making chocolate dipped Rice Krispy kisses.


Have you noticed that all my cooking inspiration ideas are desserts - sigh!  I have a sweet tooth, what can I say.  This cake looks amazing and is made in the crock pot which also sounds like a good idea.





OTHER

I'm so excited to have been sent these instructions on how to make your own light box for taking pictures of small objects, including food.  It looks so doable that I didn't want to lose the link so I'm adding it to my inspiring ideas folder.
